Okay, so Amanda and Anna did an awe-some job with their menu last week. I am definitely a proud "parent". Maybe I’m feeling a little threatened, but I decided to re arrange the ingredients featured on their menu into a new menu we all worked on together. I get so antsy on the sideline. It’s a terrible flaw. This menu keeps with the season and has lots of unexpected and delicious surprises. We hope you enjoy, and I am definitely glad to be back in the kitchen. Anna and Amanda will get many chances to shine on their own this year.

On my little vacation, I ate….and ate….and ate.  Fantastic dinners in Kansas City, Los Angeles and here in Topeka. On the West Coast favorites were, Marix, Hugos, Tequilas, and my good friend Lillian’s home in the hills. In Kansas City I loved Farmhouse, Fo Thai, Tannin Wine Bar and Kitchen, La Bodega, and of course Ponak’s Mexican Kitchen. Here in Topeka great meals from The Burger Stand, Flying Monkey, and my go to favorite, El Mexcal.  At the bottom of menu page I took some time to write about them all.

I’m stuffed! Thanks for being here, and have a great week!

We have a lovely winelist, Premium Liquors, awesome cocktails, and great beers.   Wine and Alcohol cannot be brought in to the restaurant as of April 1, 2011.

When making reservations please know the house has three levels and many unique dining rooms. The main floor is handicap accessible, but the top floor and garden level do have stairs. We try to honor table and floor request but are not always able to do so because of limited space for large groups. If you have a specific table or room you'd like, please let us know when making your reservation and we will do our best to make it happen. We are contantly looking for ways to make your evening with us even better.  One of us is on staff at RowHouse Wednesday through Saturday from 2 pm to Close.  We return calls Tuesday through Saturday in the order received.  We have someone in the office Tuesday from 2p - 4p, in addition to our regular schedule.

Lots of great places opening around town to eat.  I've not had a chance to visit, but have heard great things about both the Office Too, and the Burger Stand.  Also new eats coming to the Brick Oven Space, and New City Cafe is opening a lunch spot on Kansas Avenue soon.  So much good food to look forward too.  Check them all out.
